The Fontanelle Cemetery Caves in Naples, Italy, feature thousands of skulls from the plague of 1656 and bombings of World War II. In the early 20th Century a cult emerged around the skulls and visitors would bring flowers and other offerings, and ask for wishes to be granted. A visit here is a truly unique and sobering experience.
